Claire's proposal planning journey began in 2013, at a time when proposal planning was virtually unheard of in Australia. Once the business was discovered, a media frenzy followed, bringing bookings from radio and television alongside a growing client base. Since then, Surprise Proposals has had the privilege of assisting with over 1,000 marriage proposals. Throughout its extensive history, Surprise Proposals has carefully sourced the most beautiful proposal locations and parks across Sydney, establishing strong relationships with venues and hotels that give clients access to pre-negotiated rates. The business also works with a trusted network of professional service providers — including musicians, pyrotechnicians, photographers, and videographers — all handpicked for their passion and professionalism. Proposal Picnics Surprise Proposals does arrange proposal picnics, though generally does not recommend including food during the proposal itself. Although it sounds lovely in theory, when adrenaline is pumping and emotions are running high, eating is usually the last thing on a client's mind — and food often goes to waste.
