Founded and operated by sisters Akilah Anders and Tasha Canada, our company is proudly Black-owned and woman-owned, built from a shared passion for event design and creating unforgettable experiences for our community in Central Iowa. At Sister Sister Picnics, we specialize in designing and setting up high-end, styled outdoor and indoor picnic experiences tailored to each client’s vision. Every event we create is custom-curated with attention to detail, aesthetic beauty, and a strong focus on meaningful, memorable moments. Our services are designed for life’s most special occasions, including romantic experiences such as first dates, date nights, anniversaries, and marriage proposals. We also create elegant setups for social celebrations like birthdays, bridal and baby showers, girls’ nights, and intimate micro-parties. In addition, we provide thoughtfully designed environments for elopements, pop-up events, and other personal milestones that deserve to be celebrated in a unique way. While our primary focus is on styling, setup, seating, and overall event design, we do not provide catering directly. Instead, we collaborate with trusted local partners, such as Cheese Louise DSM, to offer curated charcuterie boards and inclusive snack options tailored to our clients’ preferences and dietary needs.
